How It Came To Be
It all began about 15 years ago… as I was listening to a reggae song that had a line in it about eating apple dumplings down at Fattyboombooms….My eyes sparkled, I jumped up! That was it!
Fattyboombooms… A funky expression that fits the nonconformist, the fun and the curious… Dreaming, plotting and thinking forward the name speaks to an attitude, one that doesn’t really have a straight definition, one that describes an independent style with a sense of confidence all wrapped up.

The Farmhouse and its surrounding 9 acres is situated in the drift-less area of Northwestern Illinois- Facing the historical highway called Stage Coach Trail.
Seen as original in the 1800’s. We purchased this corner beauty in 2004.

Looking at the photo on the left- that right there was Aunt Mary’s kitchen. I sat at that kitchen table across from Aunt Mary for a solid 15 years getting to know the building, the land, the community and my family.
She would often say she saw my wheels turning....

She was curious of what we were going to do with the house and space. She was able to see and experience first hand the beginnings of updating the house and the outside structures around.
